Ambury Park Centre was established in 1983 as a riding centre for people with disabilities. Ian John Vice President A member since 1998, Ian is an independent film and video producer director and has directed numerous documentaries, corporate and commercial productions. Claire Lingman Treasurer A member since 1988 and Treasurer since 1996, Claire is a former President and Vice President who is well qualified to handle the Centre’s financial affairs. He has had a long career in teaching that included positions as Deputy Principal and Principal.
Tim Lowe Auckland Council representative as Senior Ranger, Partnerships, Southern Regional Parks. She is a Chartered accountant with previous voluntary work experience for St. She is a qualified lawyer and Olympic silver medalist with the NZ three day event team in Barcelona. He has qualifications in Accounting and much experience in planning and property development. Christine is on the Mangere Otahuhu Local Board and represents Auckland Council on the Ambury Park Centre Board.

Am bury Park center was delighted to take sponsorship from CITY Cleaning Services Ltd for new shirts for the volunteer team. The Horses are part of the Am bury family and are worn by our fulltime and part-time students for therapy rides. Every child who attends the center, either as a part-time rider or as a fulltime student in our school, is assigned a horse. He has been a splendid first kid riding pony taking portion in all Pony Club activities.
Frosty will be a vast asset for the many small children attending the weekly therapy programmed. Providing the fresh volunteer shirts is a immense way to thank these people for their time, and the shirts also help riders, parents, protection givers, Am bury staff and students identify them as volunteers. Amaru is in training for both the fulltime students and part-time therapy riders. Am bury Park's horses are an essential part of our riding therapy programmed.
As one of the volunteers said It’s great to have a new shirt we’ve had the same uniform for some ten years, so it’s really beautiful to have a fresh color with the fresh Am bury Park center logo. We also receive substantial encourage from the various gaming trusts, a number of other fenders, individual donors and horse sponsors. All horse has a unmistakable personality and, depending on a number of factors, is impaired for therapy rides, or by our fulltime students, or both of these. Am bury Park center relies heavily on volunteers to labor with the staff member.
Am bury Park center relies heavily on volunteers to work with the staff member. It is expensive to retain horses and because they work hard, we must ensure they are well looked after. He is ridden by the fulltime students as he is rather cheeky and if you are not paying attention he will wake you up with a buck!

These are children aged 13 to 18 who, for a variety of reasons, are not coping in, or are not attending mainstream education. At Ambury Park Centre, students receive a high level of one on one or small group instruction from qualified teachers supported by teacher aides. Each student follows a programme that is individually tailored to his or her identified needs and abilities. The goal is to support the students back into mainstream education, on to tertiary study, or into the workforce. The regular rhythmical movement of the horse enables instructors to work with riders to develop mobility, muscle control and confidence. Ambury Park Centre is a registered private school that offers core subjects and so much. Some clients in this course can be enrolled with the school for selected NCEA standards. In the course there is the opportunity to maintain and further develop Literacy and Numeracy skills. These clients are offered riding therapy and all are involved in the care of the horses and other horse related work. There is an emphasis on community participation and Pathways to Inclusion though which the clients can participate in activities they personally aspire to. The vocational programme provides a life skills course for approximately 27 people. Modern riding therapy embraces a holistic approach to riding, taking from riding what we need recreation, sport, rehabilitation, physical and psychological therapy. The regular, rhythmical movement of the horse enables the rider to work all the muscles, and in particular those muscles that provide balance for sitting and walking. Areas of focus include communication, language development, social interaction, body movement, co ordination, improved balance, self awareness and self confidence. The vocational programme provides a life skills course for approximately 27 people. The Centre's part time therapy rides the Remedial and Intensive Courses rely heavily on volunteers to work with the staff member who supervises the rides. 30pm.
