What you should know about Auckland Hockey Association
Auckland Hockey runs a stuffed field 11 a side summer hockey competition for both men and women in the Masters age group over 35. Your encourage will ensure the continuing development of coaches, players and umpires at all levels of competition, from our Junior Trivial Sticks to our national representatives. The competition includes boys, girls and mixed teams and grades for years 3 4, years 5 6 and years 7 8. Auckland Hockey is responsible for the development and promotion of Hockey across the Auckland region. 2017 KEY DATES Opening Weekend 1st 2nd April Festival of Hockey for all grades, except Premier, Division 1 and Division 2 who start their competition on 1st 2nd April. There are four coaching courses available according to which age group you are coaching. To be eligible to play in the National Below 21 Regional Tournaments, the players must be under the age of 21 years used as at 1st January of the year in which the tournament is played and must be over the age of 18 years worn as at 1st January of the year in which the tournament is played. To ensure the continued development of our coaches, players and umpires at all levels of competition, we have developed a number of different ways in which you can promote us. AK HOCKEY ACADEMY The Auckland Hockey Academy provides 40 elite players aged 16 years and over the opportunity to undertake training in line with the Hockey NZ player pathway for identified players. World Masters Games with Auckland hosting one of the world’s biggest sporting events and a number of aha Umpires involved in this tournament along with players and teams from Premier Reserve to Division 4 we have had to be pragmatic and schedule a NO PLAY weekend on April except Premier teams who will all play at LED over both weekends of mg. As an Auckland Hockey Umpire you will be umpiring in the Auckland Club Hockey Competition.
