A 100 New Zealand owned Freight Transport company, Carroll’s Cartage was founded in 1969 by Tony and Vera Carroll, whose motto remains Right first time is always best and cheapest overall. The freight industry has been a part of my life from my early childhood years. My ambition is to continue developing our company on the principles that have succeeded in the past. Carroll’s established itself based on honesty, old fashioned values and a can do’ attitude.
That philosophy continues and Carroll’s good reputation is underpinned by a 46 year track record of excellent service and competitive prices. Today, Carroll’s still works with many of their original customers a testament to their integrity and ability to meet the changing needs of the industry and our customers. Word of mouth has always been their best form of promotion and they are proud of the long standing client base. What’s more, some of the original staff are still with the company nearly four decades on. Under his leadership, the company continues to thrive through a marriage of old fashioned values and modern technology.
In 2004 Carroll’s relocated to a new purpose built warehouse and transport facility in Mahunga Drive, just across the Mangere Bridge from the Port of Onehunga and minutes from Auckland International Airport. This facility will see Carroll’s further advance their use of technology operating Very Narrow Aisle VNA fork trucks capable of working in 1. 7 wide aisles, as opposed to the traditional 3 metre wide aisle. This advancement in efficiency also sees Carroll’s being the first company in New Zealand to operate a fork truck equipped with a semi automated navigation system. Carroll’s Logistics have enabled us as a distributor online retailer to roll out a very efficient business model in New Zealand.
They are the one stop shop for sea freight, storage, pick and pack and nationwide freight. Having these services all under one roof not only simplifies our systems but is highly cost effective. Carroll’s Cartage have been suppliers of freight services, including wharf clearage and devanning, for Sandvik NZ for over 20 years. This willingness has never faltered and speaks to the motivation in this family owned company.
When Oilseed Product’s commenced business in 1977, we needed a contractor with warehousing facilities. 33 years on, they are still our choice and I can’t speak highly enough of their integrity and efficiency. When we moved from Italy in 1997 we had the good fortune to engage Carroll's Cartage to pick up and deliver a container of personal belongings. We were so impressed with their service that when we imported our first container of kitchens, we had no doubts about using them again.
Italy and Kitchens imports kitchen and bathroom components and accessories from three Italian suppliers. Their friendly and efficient staff have a great 'can do' attitude and they have accepted the many challenges we have thrown their way over the years with enthusiasm. I regard the support we have had from Carroll's as hugely important to the growth and development of our business. We rely on Carroll's to help Italy and Kitchens 'deliver' in all meanings of the word
