Wynne Cranston, the founder of Hyspecs Hydraulic Specialties Ltd , worked for the Vickers Corporation in Australia in the 1960's when he returned home to form Vickers New Zealand. From early on, Wynne's focus was not on what the corporation required, but what services and products the customers were asking for. As a result, Wynne soon became aware that customers wanted a supplier to provide the complete range of products for their projects. Wynne concluded that no single manufacturer could offer a complete range of technically superior products. Hyspecs has developed its range of products and services to continue today what Wynne set out to achieve then.
Wynne's focus then, as Hyspecs focus is today, was to provide premium customer service, backed by strong technical ability and a complete range of quality components to provide complete system solutions. HYSPECS, HYTECH and HYTRANS Auckland move to their new purpose built 2700m2 premises at 32 Crooks Road, East Tamaki. Three times the size of the old Lady Ruby Drive location, the new building gives us the much needed room for stock and brings the three companies under a common roof. Hyspecs Holdings has 42 staff in four companies servicing all of New Zealand.
Hytech Hyspecs Technologies is formed to initially support Hyspecs requirement for aluminium and steel machined hydraulic cartridge valve manifolds. Hydraulic Specialties has 27 staff in two locations and is now regarded as New Zealand's leading supplier of hydraulic equipment. Hyspecs celebrates 25 years of operation! Auckland purchases adjacent warehouse and expands to current 950m2 building. Hyspecs was formed in 1972 as an alternative to the single brand, multi national suppliers in existence at the time.
Product is sourced from around the world through selected well known, quality companies. Largest hydraulic stock holding in NZ and 24 7 technical sales and service backup right part on time. Hyspecs can draw on sister companies Hytrans and Hytech to provide power transmission solutions and hydraulic manifold technology
