In 188, Ernest Peacock opened a small general printing business in Collins Street, Melbourne. With the explosion of business in the new Federation, companies were seeking better systems and seeing the opportunity, Ernest developed printing systems and binders often in gold leaf which quickly established him as a printer of quality. Innovation was always a signature of Peacock Bros and the company later developed loose leaf binders and systems for doctors, lawyers and real estate agents and payroll systems as well as printing for schools and many major companies like Coles and Myers.
In the 1970s Peacock Bros was the agent for the iconic Casio hand held calculator, but it was in fact, hand marking machines that pointed the company in another direction. With the purchase of a Mark Andy press and now producing a lot of labels for chemicals and address labels, Peacock Bros decided to sell off the general printing business in 1978 and concentrate solely on labels and desktop printing systems. Today we are one of the largest manufacturers of labels in the ANZ region, as well as end to end solution providers in the supply chain of barcode printers, data capture and software integration software products for warehouse, logistics and stock distribution.
