Steelcraft Engineering Ltd was established by Gareth George in 1982 to provide engineering and fabrication services to the Auckland steel manufacturing industry. From there the company expanded to include work in the dairy, food and beverage and shipping industries. In the late 90s Gareth’s sons Jason and Darren took over the business Since then Steelcraft’s client base has grown again to include glass processing, printing and cardboard manufacturers. In addition to fabrication the company now provides sectional rolling, onsite welding, plant maintenance, machine installation and relocation.
John looks after customers and ensures that all customer project requirements are met, from design, fabrication to installation. Jason is a qualified engineer whose skills mean he is called upon by clients to personally manage unusual projects. Darren has over 20 years contract management and fabrication experience in the heavy manufacturing industry. Chris gates is the Steelcraft Safety Manager, with over 15 years experience in the manufacturing industry.

Steelcraft Engineering can safely install fresh and used machinery and equipment any location, on time, on budget. Lifting steel beams into very restricted areas required masterful rigging skills. The management and coordination around this project was the key requirement in completing the project safely.
The company’s two hands on directors and their team regulate a range of projects that include fabrication and machining jobs, on site plant maintenance, machinery relocation and maintenance. The time frame to total the stacking machine move was only one day to allow for the assembly of new equipment. The job was managed from start to complete by our capable team who provided a turnkey solution for our client. To yield a sturdy, functional and economic safety fencing solution in a prompt manner we had to set up efficient processes in the workshop and consult closely with our client to ensure he got a top quality product.
The welds were in very difficult places and at times the welders had to become contortionists to get the result they were after!. The project required highly competent welders, who, before the commencement of any welding, were needed to pass a number of specialized weld test procedures. All projects were carried out in functioning factories that required Steelcraft to work with production, safety and space constraints in obey at all times.
